Job summary

The Wellington-based Ministry of Education seeks a Manager, Contracts to lead a team of contract and commercial practitioners. You will provide expert oversight of high-value agreements, guide contract owners, and ensure alignment with CMF and SRM across the organisation.

You will oversee negotiations, develop contract management plans, establish KPIs, and mitigate risks to deliver value for money and compliant outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand's education system.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist oversight of contract management activities, including complex or high-value agreements.
• Offer expert contract and commercial advice to senior decision makers on terms and risk allocation.
• Ensure activities align with the Contract Management Framework (CMF) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.
• Develop and implement contract management plans for key contracts during establishment and ongoing management.
• Support contract negotiations and review tender documentation to improve sourcing processes.
• Establish KPIs and measurements to evaluate initiative and contract effectiveness.
• Identify and mitigate contract risks and escalate issues as needed.
