Job summary

Canterbury District Council is seeking an experienced Planner to lead as Duty Planning Supervisor in Canterbury. You will set up and lead a team of Duty Planners while remaining hands-on with a range of planning and resource management work.

You will coordinate day-to-day planning enquiries, pre-application meetings and resource consent processing, ensuring work is delivered efficiently within statutory timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Duty Planners and stay hands-on with planning and resource management tasks.
• Coordinate day-to-day planning enquiries, pre-application meetings and resource consent processing.
• Provide planning advice on complex development proposals; process land use and subdivision applications.
• Collaborate with developers and consultants; respond to public enquiries; contribute to District Plan reviews and plan changes.
