Job summary

VTNZ Pascoe Street branch in Nelson is seeking a Driver Testing Officer to join the team full time. This dual role includes front counter duties and training to cover CSR responsibilities.

You will conduct driving tests for cars, motorcycles and trucks, ensuring compliance with New Zealand traffic law. The role requires strong customer service and clear communication, with four weeks of paid training and rostered weekend work.

Qualifications

• Current, full and clean New Zealand driver’s licence (held 2+ years, able to drive manual)
• Customer service experience, ideally in a pressured environment
• Excellent written and oral English communication
• Technically minded with sound judgement and observation skills
• Ability to work Monday to Friday and rostered weekends
• Meet requirements to gain an 'O Endorsement' on your licence including eyesight and medical testing

Responsibilities

• Test safe driving practices according to New Zealand traffic law across cars, motorcycles and trucks
• Conduct tests for multiple vehicle classes under NZ licensing rules
