Job summary

Mackleys in Christchurch is seeking an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our team. You will work on a variety of transport assignments including pre-cast and general freight, local deliveries, and linehaul work across the Canterbury region.

This full-time role offers guaranteed 40 hours per week, weekly pay, and a supportive team focused on safety and professionalism. Modern equipment and diverse week-to-week work keep the role engaging.

Qualifications

• NZ Class 5 Driver Licence required.
• 5+ years class 5 heavy transport experience.
• Experience with pre-cast or general freight transport.
• Forklift licence and OSH endorsement are advantageous but not essential.
• Strong safety mindset and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Transporting pre-cast concrete products safely and efficiently.
• General freight deliveries across the Christchurch region.
• Local metro work and linehaul assignments.
• Loading, securing and transporting a wide variety of freight.
• Representing Mackleys professionally with customers every day.
• Completing pre-start checks and ensuring your vehicle is presented to a high standard.
• Working safely and following company procedures at all times.

We're looking for an experienced Class 5 Driver to join our Christchurch team.

This is a varied role that offers plenty of diversity. Depending on operational requirements, you could be involved in pre-cast transport, general freight, local deliveries, linehaul work as well as over dimensional work.

What you'll be doing

No two days are quite the same. Your work may include:

What we're looking for

• Experience with pre-cast or general freight transport.

• Confidence using technology and learning new systems.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• Great customer service and communication skills.
• Pride in maintaining your truck and equipment.
• Reliability, punctuality and a positive, team-focused attitude.
