Job summary

The Fresh Berry Company of NZ Ltd in Hastings is seeking a Driver and Logistics Support for a fixed-term period Oct/Nov 2026 to Apr 2027. The role covers local deliveries and logistics coordination during busy harvest.

The position is 40 hours per week, with one weekend day, based in Hawke’s Bay and entails coordinating deliveries and supporting the DC and farming operations. Applicants should have admin/logistics or customer service experience, a Class 4 licence, and ideally a forklift licence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an administration and/or logistics/customer service role
• Class 4 Drivers licence
• Forklift licence (F endorsement) preferred
• Highly organised with great attention to detail and process
• Strong computer and system skills
• Eligible to work in New Zealand without restriction

Responsibilities

• Pickups from local farming operations of produce to be delivered into the Hawkes Bay Distribution Centre
• Deliveries from the DC to local customers around Hawkes Bay
• Pickups and deliveries of crates, pallets and packaging
• Coordination of the logistics function for berry fruit
• Assisting the management of overall logistics function between the farming operations and the sales and marketing team
• Liaising with farms and trucks around coordination of pick ups
• Liaising with the sales team around stock
• Working with the quality control team to ensure products meet quality expectations
• Ensuring deliveries are ready for despatch with appropriate paperwork
• Maintaining accurate documentation and record keeping

This role is a fixed term role commencing October/November until April 2027 to cover for an employee who is on extended leave and to assist in the busy harvest season. The role is 40 hours a week, including one day at the weekend. The purpose of the role is to assist with local deliveries and provide logistics support to the Fresh Berry Company of NZ Ltd.

Key responsibilities
