Job summary

Tauhara North No.2 Trust in Rotorua seeks a casual Driver to transport guests safely and comfortably, reporting to the Logistics Manager. You will uphold excellent customer service while sharing insights about local culture and experiences.

You must hold a clean NZ driver’s license with class 4 and P endorsements, perform daily vehicle checks, and help prepare guest manifests with the Reservations team. A neat appearance and positive attitude are essential.

Position Overview

The Driver position is a casual role reporting to the Logistics Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their journey. This role requires a clean and current NZ driver's license with class 4 and P endorsements, as well as mechanical knowledge to perform daily vehicle checks and report necessary repairs.

As the initial contact for our guests, drivers must establish a positive rapport through excellent customer service, time management, and safe driving practices. A neat appearance and friendly demeanor are essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily vehicle checks, including fuel and cleanliness, before and after shifts.
  • Provide timely and safe transportation for manuhiri while sharing insightful commentary about TPT experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Reservations team to prepare manifests and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and report any mechanical issues promptly.
  • Engage and support other team members and cultural hosts as needed, fostering a positive work environment.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to customer service excellence and a passion for tourism and hospitality. You should be well-organized and able to manage time effectively while providing a high level of service.

  • Proven professional driving experience with a valid NZ driver's license (class 4 and P endorsements).
  • Strong background in customer service, preferably in tourism or hospitality.
  • Ability to multitask, ensuring safe driving while engaging with passengers.
  • Knowledge of Te Ao Māori and willingness to learn more about local culture and heritage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse groups.

Please note that all applicants must have NZ residency or a valid work visa. Preferred candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment checks, including Ministry of Justice and Drug and Alcohol testing.
