Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd in Porirua is seeking a practical Serviceperson Drainage to help maintain wastewater and stormwater networks. You will perform drainage maintenance, operate small plant and CCTV equipment, and respond to overflows as part of a collaborative team.

You must hold a full NZ Class 1 licence (and aim to gain WTR and Class 2). The role offers stable, permanent employment with training, overtime, and a strong safety culture in the water infrastructure sector.

Qualifications

• Reliable, hard-working attitude.
• Full Class 1 licence minimum with ability to gain WTR and Class 2 licence.
• Experience in civil/construction, with ability to use hand tools and small plant/machinery.
• Ability to use iPad/tablet to record information.
• Commitment to health and safety at work; First Aid/Confined Spaces/Working at height beneficial.
• Willingness to overtime and rostered shifts.
• Willingness to complete Connexis Infrastructure works qualification.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing drainage and stormwater infrastructure.
• Installing, unblocking and repairing drainage pipes, mains, valves and connections.
• Setting and repairing manhole covers and frames.
• Operating CCTV, jetting and root-cutting equipment.
• Using small plant and machinery, including excavators, in safe environments.
• Responding to drainage overflows and emergency situations.
• Participating in standby roster and callout duties.
• Communicating professionally with customers and stakeholders.
• Working safely following environmental and quality standards.
