Job summary

World Vision New Zealand in Auckland seeks a Relationship Officer to engage generous New Zealanders by phone, inviting gifts and building lasting donor relationships, with coaching to grow professionally.

You will design personal gift plans, thank donors, and guide Visionaries from their first inquiry to gifts in their will, while collaborating with fundraising, marketing and content teams in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in relationship-based work such as fundraising or account management.
• Track record of working toward targets and managing your own workload.
• Excellent written and spoken communication, with a warm phone manner.
• Curiosity about people and ability to build trust over time.
• Comfort discussing sensitive topics with empathy and clarity.
• Strong organization and data skills, with CRM experience.

Responsibilities

• Build genuine donor relationships mostly by phone and learn their story.
• Create personal gift plans and invite gifts clearly and without pressure.
• Thank donors and demonstrate the impact of their gifts for children.
• Guide Visionaries from first enquiry to a confirmed gift in their will.
• Spot donors who could give more and learn from colleagues.
• Maintain CRM records and support donor events with colleagues.
