Job summary

IAG Insurance in Auckland seeks an experienced Document Testing & Automation Specialist to ensure quality and reliability of customer communications through the SmartCOMM platform.

You will design and maintain automated testing frameworks, validate XML/JSON data, and drive AI-enabled testing with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality outcomes. This permanent, full‑time role is based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and solutions to improve product quality and release confidence.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, API, and end‑to‑end testing to validate complex business processes and customer communications.
• Validate data formats (XML/JSON), troubleshoot and investigate defects, and support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet regulatory and customer requirements.
• Contribute to test planning, risk assessments, and continuous improvement within Agile teams.
• Lead automation initiatives, drive AI-enabled testing, and mentor junior QA team members.

We are seeking an experienced Document Testing & Automation Specialist to ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of customer communications delivered through the Smart Communications (SmartCOMMs) platform. This role focuses on developing and maintaining automated testing solutions, validating communications across multiple channels, and driving quality engineering best practices.

The successful candidate will contribute to automation modernisation initiatives, leverage AI-enabled testing capabilities, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality customer communication outcomes.

This is a permanent full‑time role based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland)

• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks and solutions to improve product quality, efficiency, and release confidence.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, API, and end‑to‑end testing to validate complex business processes and customer communications.
• Validate XML/JSON data, troubleshoot test failures, analyse results, and support root cause investigation and defect resolution.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Contribute to test planning, risk assessments, release readiness activities, and continuous improvement initiatives across Agile delivery teams.

• Strong hands‑on experience with BDD/Cucumber‑based automation frameworks.
• Proven experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of Git, source control practices, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with API testing, REST services, and service integration validation.
• Strong knowledge of XML, JSON, and data validation techniques.
• Experience using Jira, Xray, or similar test management and defect tracking tools.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and modern quality engineering practices.
• Knowledge of Smart Communications (SmartCOMMs) or similar customer communication management platforms, nice to have.
