Job summary

WSP in Auckland seeks an Associate Director/Director in Structures to lead the Building Structures Team within the Property and Buildings Sector. You will engage with local clients, drive business development, and ensure high-quality project delivery across Auckland and beyond.

We expect a tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering or related field, CPEng status, and 10+ years of Buildings engineering experience with seismic expertise.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Structural Engineering or related field.
• CPEng status or equivalent.
• 10+ years' experience in Buildings engineering with seismic focus.
• Strong senior project management with commercial focus.
• Experience developing client pipelines and prospects.
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Building Structures Team within the Property and Buildings Sector.
• Support the Head of Structures in delivering business plans and strategic goals.
• Engage with clients, develop and maintain strong relationships, pursue new opportunities.
• Assist with technical development of Structural Engineers in Auckland and other offices.
• Act as Project Manager/Director on assigned projects, ensuring objectives are met.
• Lead project teams, ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with required quality.
• Manage projects including reports, invoices, and quality management systems.
• Plan Buildings engineering tasks and coordinate activities to meet budget and client satisfaction.
• Advise on training, resourcing, quality assurance and deliverables.
