Job description

Join One of Canterbury's Fastest Growing Creative Agencies

Kia ora and welcome to MoMac

We’re not your typical agency.

What started as a one-person video production business has grown into a full-service creative agency with a talented team of marketers, designers, developers, photographers, videographers and strategists helping businesses throughout New Zealand grow.

Today, MoMac is home to a passionate team who enjoy producing great work, building strong client relationships and finding new ways to help businesses grow.

Due to continued growth within our Digital Marketing department, we’re looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Specialist to join our team.

This is a newly created position within an established and growing marketing team.

If you enjoy digital marketing, campaign creative, social media and working with a wide range of businesses, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

We’re looking for someone with a strong foundation in digital marketing and ideally a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.

The role will have a particular focus on Meta advertising, campaign creative, social media and supporting the development and delivery of digital marketing campaigns.

You’ll work alongside our existing digital marketing specialists as well as our designers, videographers, photographers, developers and strategists.

A big part of the role will be helping turn campaign ideas into effective digital activity. That could include developing campaign concepts, creating or adapting graphics in Canva, writing copy, setting up Meta campaigns, preparing organic social content and working with the wider creative team to produce campaign assets.

You’ll also have opportunities to work directly with clients, contribute to campaign strategies, assist with reporting and help manage ongoing accounts.

You don’t need to be an expert in every area of digital marketing. We’re looking for someone with a good base of knowledge, the right attitude and the ability to continue developing their skills as part of the team.

Paid Ads
  • Plan, build, and optimise Meta Ads campaigns across Facebook and Instagram.
  • Plan, build, and optimise Google Ads campaigns (Search, Display, Shopping, Performance Max).
  • Manage budgets, bidding strategies, audience targeting, and creative testing.
  • Monitor performance and make proactive optimisations rather than waiting for review cycles.
  • Troubleshoot underperforming campaigns and identify root causes.
Campaign Creative and Content
  • Write or oversee ad copy and creative direction for paid campaigns.
  • Create simple graphics and visual content using tools like Canva
  • Work with clients or internal resources to source creative assets when needed.
  • Test and refine creative to improve campaign performance.
Organic Social Media
  • Plan and manage content calendars across client social channels.
  • Write or oversee copy and creative direction for organic posts.
  • Monitor engagement and community activity where required.
Onboarding / Strategies
  • Lead onboarding for new clients—gathering brand, business, and account access information.
  • Set up ad accounts, tracking, and reporting infrastructure correctly from day one.
  • Run kickoff calls to align on goals, target audience, and initial strategy.
  • Develop practical marketing strategies and plans based on each client’s goals.
  • Set clear expectations on timelines, deliverables, and communication cadence.
Reporting and Communication
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports (monthly, or as agreed with each client).
  • Translate campaign data into clear, plain-language insights and recommendations—not just raw numbers.
  • Run client review calls confidently and independently.
  • Respond proactive to client questions and flag risks or opportunities before being asked.
  • Maintain strong, trust-based relationships across your client portfolio.
  • Ideally 2-3+ years experience in digital marketing, social media, advertising or a similar marketing role.
  • Proven experience managing organic social media content and strategy.
  • Experience owning client relationships directly—not just supporting an account manager.
  • Confidence leading client calls, presentations, and reporting sessions independently.
  • Strong analytical skills—comfortable in Google Ads Manager, Meta Ads Manager, and GA4.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach—you flag issues and bring solutions, not just problems.
  • Ability to develop campaign and content ideas.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and internal team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly Desirable
  • Experience using Canva.
  • Previous agency experience.
  • Experience creating digital campaign graphics and social content.
  • Experience managing multiple client accounts.
  • Experience working across different industries and business types.
  • Experience with campaign reporting and analytics.
  • Experience presenting ideas or recommendations to clients.
  • Content creation experience including social reels, photography or video.
  • Google Analytics 4 experience.
  • SEO knowledge.
  • EDM and email marketing experience.
  • Experience with LinkedIn Ads or TikTok Ads.
  • Experience managing YouTube content or campaigns.
  • Marketing, communications or related qualification.

Google Ads experience would be a great bonus, but it isn’t essential. You’ll work alongside team members with existing paid search expertise and will have opportunities to develop your knowledge in this area over time.

What Success Looks Like

You’re someone who can take an idea and help turn it into a campaign.

You enjoy combining marketing thinking with creative execution and aren’t afraid to jump between strategy, advertising, content and client communication.

You’re comfortable taking ownership of your work, asking questions and contributing ideas.

You understand that good digital marketing isn’t just about posting content. It’s about understanding the objective, developing the right message and creative, reaching the right audience and continually improving the result.

Why Join MoMac?

At MoMac, we invest in our people and believe great work comes from strong collaboration.

You’ll be joining an established marketing team within a full-service creative agency, giving you the opportunity to work alongside specialists across marketing, design, photography, video, web and strategy.

What You’ll Enjoy
  • Full-time position based at our Rangiora office.
  • Modern office environment and equipment.
  • Supportive and collaborative team culture.
  • Diverse client portfolio across a wide range of industries.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Opportunities to grow your responsibilities and career.
  • Travel allowance for Christchurch-based team members of approximately $20 per day.
  • Regular team events and social activities.
  • The opportunity to work within a growing full-service creative agency.

We’re looking for someone who can ideally start as soon as possible, although we’re happy to wait for the right person.

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine digital marketing, campaign creative, social media and client work while continuing to develop your skills, we’d love to hear from you.

All applications will be treated with strict confidentiality.
