Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora – South Canterbury is seeking a Clinical Leader- Dietetics to lead the Dietetics Service in Timaru. The role combines strategic leadership with advanced clinical practice across inpatient, outpatient and community settings.

You will mentor staff, support students, drive quality improvement, and contribute to service development while maintaining an active clinical presence. Based in Timaru, the role offers an opportunity to shape outcomes in South Canterbury.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Dietitian in New Zealand with current practising certificate.
• Minimum three years' senior clinician experience.
• Demonstrated clinical leadership and ability to develop others.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement.
• Strong organisational skills with ability to work at strategic and operational levels.
• Sound knowledge of information technology systems.
• A current full New Zealand Driver Licence.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and improving equitable health outcomes for Māori.
• Membership of Dietitians NZ.
• Evidence of ongoing postgraduate or tertiary-level education.
• Experience leading service development, quality improvement, research, or workforce initiatives.

Responsabilités

• Lead and manage the Dietetics Service across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the Dietetics Service.
• Support workforce development, service planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Mentor staff and support students and new graduates.
• Contribute to research and innovation within the service.
• Foster clinical excellence and evidence-based practice in the team.
