Job summary

Ballance Agri-Nutrients in Mount Maunganui is seeking a Despatch Operator to join our site-based team. You will manage customer orders, ensure accurate despatch of fertiliser products, and operate loader and forklift equipment in a safe, efficient manner.

Daily duties include fixed plant operations, routine maintenance checks, and cleaning to keep the site running smoothly. You will engage with customers and colleagues with a proactive attitude to safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Good communication and ability to relate well to others.
• Basic computer skills with training provided for in-house systems.
• Proactive attitude to health, safety and environmental management.
• Full class 1 and 2 licences; W endorsement desirable for forklift/loader operations.
• Willingness to work at other Ballance sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Process customer orders and inquiries, ensuring accuracy and fixing anomalies.
• Despatch fertiliser products in a timely and accurate manner.
• Operate loader and forklift and perform basic maintenance.
• Run fixed plant operations and support site uptime.
• Conduct regular safety checks and keep the area clean and orderly.
• Interact with customers and colleagues with a positive, proactive approach.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Desptch Operators are at the heart of what we do. It's not an easy role, but it's a rewarding one, which is why we believe in harnessing your talents and creating opportunities to develop you and your career with Ballance.

This role is based in Mount Maunganui however there may be the occasional time where we may need you to be available to help out in other operations.

A typical day will include:

• Processing customer orders and inquiries - checking accuracy and fixing up any anomalies
• Despatch of fertiliser products
• Loader and forklift operation including maintenance
• Fixed plant operation
• Ensuring the site operates safely with regular maintenance checks and cleaning
• Interacting with customers and colleagues and having a laugh!

You will never be bored in this role and you get to stay active by getting out and interacting with our customers and operating the machinery.

ABOUT YOU

You're not afraid of hard work and you get energy from getting stuck in and helping out where needed. Your colleagues would describe you as reliable, honest and a keen learner and you also have:

• Good communication skills with the ability to relate well to others
• Some computer skills are required with training provided for our in-house systems
• A valid full class 1 and 2 license as training can be provided for forklift and loader operations. A valid W endorsement is highly desirable
• A proactive attitude to health, safety and environmental management - we care about each other and we get home safe every day
• The ability to work at other Ballance sites from time to time
