Job summary

Advanced Aerospace/C-Quip International in Auckland designs and manufactures precision carbon fibre components for marine, aerospace and motorsport, offering design-to-production capability. We seek a switched-on design engineer to join our in-house team, responsible for tailoring existing lines, developing new products, and providing end-to-end customer project support.

You will work with SolidWorks, PDM, and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in mechanical design.
  • Aptitude for mechanical design, drafting, and tolerance analysis.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks) and experience with PDM.
  • Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design high-quality, complex components to deadlines.
  • Tailor product lines to client requirements.
  • Drive new product development from concept to prototype testing.
  • Support manufacturing with drawing updates and work instructions.

Advanced Aerospace/C-Quip International – Auckland, North Island

As a leading NZ composite manufacturer Advanced Aerospace/C-Quip Ltd is actively seeking a switched-on design engineer to support our in-house design team and production facility.

Duties will include:
  • Product Customization: Tailor existing product lines to meet specific client requirements, creating bespoke solutions that exceed expectations.
  • New Product Development: Drive the development of new products, including mechanical design, composite design, stress analysis, prototype testing, and DFM.
  • Customer Support: Provide comprehensive end-to-end support for customer projects, from technical sales drawings and quoting to production oversight and ongoing support.
  • Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with the manufacturing team to improve production processes, update drawings, implement quality control measures, and develop work instructions and SOPs.
Candidate requirements:
  • 3+ years’ relevant work experience
  • Aptitude for mechanical design and drafting, material selection, understanding of tolerances.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), experience with PDM and engineering revision control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to take ownership over a variety of different projects.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
