Job summary

White Cross Dental Henderson is seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist / Dental Assistant to join a busy practice in Waitakere, North Island. The role combines front-desk reception duties with supportive chair-side assistance as required.

The successful candidate will manage appointments, handle patient inquiries, process payments, and maintain accurate records while upholding infection control standards and teamwork across the practice.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as dental receptionist and/or dental assistant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, professional and caring manner.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask in a busy practice.
• Good computer and administration skills; comfortable handling patient records.
• Experience with Exact dental software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and providing excellent customer service
• Managing appointments, bookings and cancellations
• Answering phone calls and responding to patient enquiries
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate patient records
• Managing recalls, emails and general administrative tasks
• Liaising with patients, dentists and other team members
• ACC documentation, reporting and billing
• Assisting the dentist during dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms and dental instruments
• Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and sterilisation
