Job summary

Lumino The Dentists in Palmerston North is seeking a friendly Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join a busy, patient-focused practice. The role combines clinical support with front-desk administration, with six months based mainly at Feilding before moving to Palmerston North full-time.

You will help prepare treatment rooms, chairside assist, welcome patients, schedule appointments, handle payments, and maintain high infection control standards, contributing to a supportive team and our network

Qualifications

• Experience as a Dental Assistant, Receptionist, or in a customer-facing role.
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High organization with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Positive, flexible and proactive attitude.
• Hold valid New Zealand work rights.
• Live locally in Palmerston North, Feilding, or nearby with reliable daily commute.
• Be able to travel to Feilding one day per week during the initial six-month period.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clinicians chairside during a range of dental procedures.
• Preparing treatment rooms and maintaining high sterilisation and infection control standards.
• Welcoming patients and creating a positive and professional experience from arrival to departure.
• Managing appointments, answering phone inquiries, and responding to patient queries.
• Processing payments and completing administrative tasks.
• Supporting the team to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Contributing to a friendly, positive, and collaborative workplace culture.
