Job summary

Crowne Plaza Christchurch is seeking a Demi Chef to join our Kitchen team in downtown Christchurch. You will assist the executive chef and kitchen team in preparing, cooking and serving dishes to Crowne Plaza Christchurch standard, while maintaining high food quality and HACCP compliance.

With at least 2 years of chef experience and relevant culinary qualifications, you will handle stock levels, support breakfast or dinner shifts, and interact with guests and colleagues to deliver exceptional

Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience as a Chef
• Diploma and/or Vocational Certificate in Culinary Skills or related field.
• Knowledge of a la carte and banquet service with modern and classical cooking techniques
• Problem solving, reasoning and training abilities.
• Ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the executive chef and the kitchen team in preparing, cooking and serving dishes to Crowne Plaza Christchurch standard.
• Responsible for food quality using recipes and photo’s that are provided.
• Maintaining a hygienic kitchen and ensuring standard operational procedures are to HACCP standards and update reports daily.
• Maintaining correct levels of stock, ensuring correct quantity of food is produced.
• Scheduled to cover either the breakfast shift or the dinner shift, depending on business needs.
