Job description

Help shape the future of how Air New Zealand delivers for our customers, our people and Aotearoa. This is your opportunity to turn strategy into meaningful outcomes, influence enterprise-wide transformation, and build the capability that keeps one of New Zealand's most iconic organisations moving forward. Whether your experience comes from digital, operations, or large-scale transformation, we value fresh perspectives and the ability to create lasting impact.

As part of our Transformation team, you'll help embed modern ways of working that improve customer, operational and commercial outcomes. Working alongside leaders, Product Owners, Delivery Owners and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a hands‑on role in turning operating model ambitions into practical, measurable results.

About the role

As a Delivery and Performance Specialist, you will:

  • Drive the adoption and continuous improvement of Air New Zealand's operating model, translating strategy into practical ways of working that improve enterprise outcomes.
  • Partner with leaders, Product Owners and Delivery Owners to define outcomes, prioritise value and turn strategic intent into executable delivery plans.
  • Build high‑performing delivery environments by strengthening accountability, decision making, collaboration and delivery rhythms.
  • Identify and resolve system‑wide delivery challenges, improving flow, reducing friction and enabling better outcomes across teams and operational environments.
  • Lead planning, prioritisation and delivery governance, ensuring risks, dependencies, investment and progress remain visible and actionable.
  • Step into complex or ambiguous situations to unblock delivery, create momentum and build lasting capability through practical coaching and leadership.
  • Integrate stakeholder feedback and adoption insights to ensure new ways of working become embedded and sustainable.

Success in this role will be measured by stronger delivery predictability, improved organisational flow, increased adoption of modern ways of working, and measurable customer, operational and commercial outcomes.

What we're looking for
  • Ideally 6+ years' experience in a large digital and/or operational organisation, including at least 3 years in enterprise coaching, transformation, complex delivery or operating model roles.
  • Experience working within complex, highly operational and unionised environments, with an understanding of frontline operations and workforce dynamics.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives from strategy through planning, mobilisation, execution and sustained adoption.
  • Strong transformation and delivery expertise, with the judgement to coach, facilitate, lead or step in directly to achieve outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success improving operating models, delivery performance, accountability and customer or operational outcomes.
  • Practical knowledge of agile, lean, flow and continuous improvement, with the ability to adapt approaches to different contexts.
  • Strong capability in planning, prioritisation, governance, risk management, vendor engagement and commercial decision making.
  • Confidence using delivery metrics and team health indicators to improve forecasting and guide continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional facilitation, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with relevant agile, coaching, delivery or change certifications considered an advantage.
