Job summary

New World Kerikeri is seeking a friendly Delicatessen Assistant to help stock and present a wide range of fresh deli products, while delivering excellent customer service.

Join a busy team with a focus on food safety, quality, and teamwork. Full training is provided and applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Fresh food, deli or hospitality experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Cooking and preparing a variety of fresh deli products including salads, sandwiches, platters, meats, and other specialty items.
• Serving customers in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
• Replenishing deli displays and cabinets.
• Assisting customers with catering and special orders.
• Ensuring products are correctly priced, labelled, and presented.
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Completing cleaning and housekeeping duties to keep the department looking its best.
• Assisting with stock control and stock takes.
• Supporting other departments when required.

As a Delicatessen Assistant, you'll help ensure our deli department is stocked with a fantastic range of fresh products, beautifully presented, and ready for our customers to enjoy. You'll play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect.

What You'll Be Doing

• Cooking and preparing a variety of fresh deli products including salads, sandwiches, platters, meats, and other specialty items.
• Serving customers in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
• Replenishing deli displays and cabinets.
• Assisting customers with catering and special orders.
• Ensuring products are correctly priced, labelled, and presented.
• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.

• Supporting other departments when required.

When You'll Be Working

• Wednesday: 12:00pm - 9:00pm
• Friday: 6:00am - 4:00pm
• Saturday: 6:00am - 4:00pm
• Sunday: 6:00 - 4:00pm
• OFF: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
