Compass Group New Zealand is seeking multiple enthusiastic Chefs for a permanent full-time role at Waiouru Defence Site, NZ. The position offers guaranteed 40 hours per week and on-site responsibilities, including both bulk cooking and à la carte service.

The successful candidates will manage high-quality meals, handle allergen considerations, and contribute to menu development while maintaining strict timelines.

Qualifications

• Experienced chef in a busy kitchen environment.
• Cookery qualification preferred.
• Strong bulk cooking and presentation skills.
• Passion for delivering great food and customer service.
• Hardworking, reliable and flexible with a positive attitude.
• Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present consistently high-quality meals
• Produce high-volume meals and à la carte dishes within strict timelines
• Assist with ordering, stock control and menu development
• Manage allergens and nutritional requirements to protect customer wellbeing
• Maintain high food safety, hygiene and quality-control standards
• Support the wider kitchen team and take responsibility for kitchen operations when required
