Job summary

NZ Defence Force seeks an Operations Information Manager based at HQJFNZ, Trentham, to design and deliver IM solutions that support communication and collaboration across NZDF personnel in New Zealand and overseas.

You will provide training and guidance on records management, ensure compliance with Public Records Act and Official Information Act, and help evolve information practices across a changing environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Practical experience in information management, records management, document management or a related field.
• Working knowledge of IM legislation, systems, practices with relevant experience or training.
• Familiarity with collaboration and information management technologies such as Microsoft SharePoint, Teams and Power Automate.
• Understanding of information lifecycle management including creation, capture, storage, retention and disposal.
• Ability to analyse requirements and develop practical solutions for customers and the organisation.
• Willingness to learn and develop specialist IM knowledge for NZDF operations.
• Experience in military, emergency management or similar environment advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver information management solutions to support communication and collaboration within the information environment.
• Provide practical advice, training and support on best-practice information and records management.
• Ensure information assets are managed securely and in compliance with NZDF policies and legislation.
• Assist in ongoing IM capability uplift and specialization within HQJFNZ and operations.
• Travel domestically on occasion as part of the role.
