Job summary

Big Chill Distribution is seeking a casual night Freight Handler for Taupo, starting at 1am. You will sort and load parcels for the morning courier run, helping keep deliveries on time and customers satisfied.

You’ll contribute to maintaining a clean depot, follow health and safety practices, and join a hardworking team within the Freightways group. Onsite parking is available, and a night-shift allowance is paid on top of hourly wages.

Qualifications

• Can lift up to 25kg repetitively and enjoy working on your feet.
• Strong commitment to Health and Safety.
• Able to commit to night hours, starting at 1am.
• Willing to put team goals at the forefront of your work.
• Experience in warehousing depot environments is a plus.
• Are 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Sort and load parcels for morning delivery.
• Work to deadlines for courier pickup.
• Maintain depot cleanliness and health and safety.
• Support night-shift operations and handover to morning team.

About the Role

Based at our Taupo branch, our night Freight Handlers sort and load parcels, working to deadlines to have everything ready for courier pick up and delivery in the morning. In joining the Freight Handler team, you are a crucial part of the nationwide mission to deliver our customers’ freight safely and on time. Freight Sorters also assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the depot, and be dedicated to the team’s Health and Safety.
