Job summary

Younity in New Zealand's Canterbury region is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design and build modern data platforms using Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Azure. You will develop data pipelines with Python, SQL and Spark/PySpark, work with lakehouse architectures, and collaborate with architects and customers on end-to-end solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years strong commercial Data Engineering experience with hands-on Databricks expertise.
• Strong Python and SQL, with experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data models.
• Experience working with lakehouse architecture and modern cloud data platforms.
• Good knowledge of Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work confidently with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Spark/PySpark, dbt, Power BI, Snowflake, Purview, CI/CD, Terraform or Bicep would be useful.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building modern data platforms across Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Azure
• Developing data pipelines, transformation and modelling solutions using Python, SQL and Spark/PySpark
• Working with lakehouse and medallion architectures across complex customer environments
• Taking ownership of technical workstreams and working directly with customers, architects and other engineers
• Contributing to engineering standards and best practice while supporting and mentoring others in the team
