Job summary

Seequent is hiring for a hybrid Data Solutions Support role to provide hands-on Level 2 technical support globally. You will resolve customer inquiries, onboard users, create training materials, and help improve support processes within Seequent’s Data Solutions applications.

The role emphasizes strong English communication, analytical problem solving, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Office-based two days a week with remote work the rest of the time.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Data Management or Computer Science with 2+ years' experience.
• Strong literacy with Excel and Access.
• Proficiency with SQL and MongoDB.
• Experience with Power BI, Pentaho, and Postman.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with strong customer focus.
• Fluent written and verbal English; strong organization and prioritization.
• Experience with earth science apps (Leapfrog, Oasis montaj, etc.) is an asset.
• Geo-related science or earth sciences support experience, plus secondary-language skills are assets.

Responsibilities

• Resolve moderately complex support requests for Seequent’s Data Solutions applications (MX Deposit, Imago) via email, phone, or remote sessions.
• Prioritize, triage, respond clearly, and track tickets to resolution.
• Deliver high-quality customer support through listening, communication, and troubleshooting.
• Deliver or assist with onboarding and training, and provide deployment support as needed.
• Create self-help resources like quick start guides and training materials.
• Apply Knowledge Centred Support (KCS) practices to the knowledge base.
• Identify opportunities to improve support processes and collaborate with senior staff.

The Role

Reporting to the Data Solutions Support Team Lead, this hybrid role provides hands‑on level 2 technical support as part of the Global Support Team, serving as a first and second point of contact for end users around the globe. You will resolve customer enquiries professionally and efficiently while also supporting implementations, onboarding, training, knowledge creation, and continuous improvement across Seequent’s Data Solutions applications.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Resolve moderately complex support requests for Seequent’s Data Solutions applications, including MX Deposit and Imago, working directly with customers by email, telephone, or remote sessions.
• Prioritize and triage technical support requests, provide clear and timely responses, and track open tickets through to satisfactory resolution.
• Deliver a high standard of customer support through effective listening, confident communication, practical education, and solution‑focused troubleshooting.
• Deliver or assist with virtual and in‑person onboarding and training, and provide deployment support for the Data Solutions Team when required.
• Create practical self‑help resources such as quick start guides, learning paths, and on‑demand training materials for customers and internal teams.
• Apply Knowledge Centred Support (KCS) principles to proactively create structured, reusable knowledge‑base content and identify opportunities where new content will add value.
• Identify opportunities to improve support processes, working with senior team members to design solutions and champion adoption.
• Collaborate with escalated technical staff, sales, development, and other support teams to help establish and maintain effective service levels.
• Contribute to project work and lead minor projects with appropriate supervision.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Post‑secondary degree in Data Management or Computer Science, with a minimum of two years of experience in a Data Management or Computer Science role.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with database management applications, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
• Proficiency with database engines and management tools, including SQL and MongoDB.
• Proficiency with reporting tools such as Power BI and Pentaho, and REST API tools such as Postman.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills, with a strong customer‑service orientation and a focus on resolving customer issues quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, strong organization and prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external contacts with minimal supervision. Experience with earth science applications such as Leapfrog, Oasis montaj, Central, or other Seequent applications is an asset, as is experience working with geological datasets.
• Experience in a geo‑related science role or a support role within the earth sciences industry, and secondary‑language communication skills, are assets.

• Work from the local office 2 days a week and home‑based the remainder of the week
