Job summary

New Zealand Inland Revenue is seeking a Data Platform Lead (Domain Lead L1) for an 18-month fixed term. Wellington preferred but open to all IR locations.

Lead the enterprise data and analytics platform, ensuring stability, continuity and delivery confidence during the interim period. You will collaborate with business and technology teams, providing direction, managing dependencies, and unifying staff, contractors and vendors into a single delivery team.

Qualifications

• Strong senior leadership in data, analytics, or platform delivery.
• Ability to lead enterprise data platforms and teams.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Judgement, risk management and decision support.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across the data platform and analytics environment.
• Support stability, continuity and delivery confidence during the interim period.
• Clarify priorities with customer leaders, delivery teams and vendors.
• Surface risks and make timely governance-informed decisions.
• Coordinate permanent staff, contractors and vendors into one delivery team.
• Support transition to future permanent leadership.
• Coach and develop others to raise capability and quality of advice.
