Job summary

Delegat Limited in Auckland is seeking a Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join the Corporate IT team. You will design, build and support data pipelines, lakehouse architecture and semantic models to transform operational data into trusted insights.

You’ll work with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, shaping a scalable analytics platform and partnering with stakeholders to drive business performance globally.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in Data Engineering or Analytics roles.
• Strong SQL and cloud data platforms.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and commercially aware Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to join our Corporate IT team, based in our Commercial Bay, Auckland office.

The Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer plays a central role in Delegat's modern data ecosystem, built on Microsoft Fabric's end-to-end analytics platform. You'll design, build and support the data pipelines, lakehouse architecture, semantic models and reporting solutions that transform operational and commercial data into trusted, actionable insights across the business.

What you'll be doing

• Design, build and maintain Microsoft Fabric pipelines, Dataflows, Lakehouse objects and data ingestion processes.
• Develop, maintain and support semantic models and Power BI solutions that enable trusted, self-service analytics.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise Fabric workloads, improving performance, reliability and scalability across the platform.
• Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into practical data solutions and actionable insights.
• Support strong data governance practices through documentation, metadata management, data quality controls and data lineage.
• Contribute to business process improvements and the continuous enhancement of Delegat's data and analytics capability.
• Provide operational support and technical expertise for assigned data and analytics platforms.
• Help improve the accessibility, quality and use of data across the organisation.
• Work equally comfortably on new development and ongoing support, ensuring our data environment remains reliable, well governed and fit for purpose.

What you'll bring

• 3-5+ years' experience in a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, BI Developer, Reporting Analyst or Data Analyst role.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including pipelines, Dataflows, Lakehouse architecture and semantic models.
• Strong Power BI development and data modelling capabilities.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable data and analytics solutions.
• Experience monitoring, supporting and improving production data environments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A continuous improvement mindset, taking ownership of outcomes and adapting based on feedback.
• Experience with Python and/or PySpark would be advantageous.
• Experience with Power Platform technologies, including Power Automate and low-code solutions, would be beneficial.
• Exposure to Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O), Azure technologies, or ML/AI solutions would be advantageous.
• Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, sales or distribution environments would be beneficial.
