About the Role

Our client, a leading analytics firm, is seeking a skilled and analytical Data Architect to join their expanding team. This role, based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, offers the flexibility of a remote work arrangement. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization's data architecture, ensuring data is structured, accessible, and optimized for analytical purposes. This includes defining data models, designing data warehouses, data lakes, and establishing data governance policies. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of database technologies, data modeling techniques, and big data concepts. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate data requirements into effective architectural solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise data architecture, including data models, databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar data-focused role.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (e.g., ER diagrams, dimensional modeling).
• Proficiency with SQL and experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Google BigQuery).
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data security principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools is a plus.
