Job summary

Watercare Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Data & Analytics Technical Lead in New Zealand. You will shape the technical direction of Watercare’s end-to-end data and analytics capability, overseeing standards across ingestion, transformation, modelling, analytics products and BI.

You’ll stay hands-on on complex initiatives and mentor teams. You’ll translate business needs into scalable designs, review architectures, and drive secure, governed, and scalable solutions aligned with enterprise

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in enterprise data and analytics in cloud environments.
• Expertise in data engineering, analytics engineering, and dimensional modelling.
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, Power BI, Azure.
• Strong leadership, design assurance, coaching across teams.
• TTertiary qualification in analytics, CS, or engineering, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Set technical standards and guardrails across data and analytics.
• Lead the design and assurance of complex data and analytics solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Review designs, code and release approaches, identifying risks and debt.
• Coach data engineers, analytics engineers, analysts and data scientists.
• Support delivery of reliable data pipelines, semantic layers and dashboards.
