Job summary

Fonterra Te Mātāpuna is seeking a Product Development Manager to shape high-value Dairy product concepts, translating market insights and technical expertise into scalable programmes that support portfolio growth. You will connect research with commercial teams, markets and external partners to ensure outputs are meaningful and commercially relevant.

Experience in R&D or product development linking science to commercial opportunities.
Ability to translate complex information into practical insights for diverse audiences.
Experience with IP principles and business case development.

Responsibilities

Lead development of new product/technology concepts across Protein & Powders or Cream, Cheese & Milkfat portfolios.
Translate technical insights into commercially relevant recommendations and synthesize market insights into research programmes.
Identify high-value research opportunities and shape them into clear, scalable programme concepts.
Support early-stage business case development, including scope, resourcing, funding options, and partnerships.
Translate complex research and market feedback into commercially relevant recommendations.
Build relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leaders, research partners and external agencies.
Support IP capture, protection and value maximisation.
Strengthen stakeholder engagement and communication of technical outcomes across R&D teams.
