Job summary

Te Tāpui Atawhai Auckland City Mission is seeking a Harm Reduction AOD Practitioner to provide specialist, harm-reduction–focused support within the Health and Connection team, aiming to reduce substance-related harm and improve safety, wellbeing and stability.

You will work to ensure equitable access to services, advocate for whānau experiencing barriers to care, and deliver culturally safe, whānau-centred responses aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Qualifications

• Current DAPAANZ registration, or a Level 7 qualification with relevant experience.
• Experience supporting people affected by substance use and mental health needs.
• Ability to work within Te Tiriti o Waitangi framework and Mission values.

Responsibilities

• Provides harm reduction-focused AOD support to clients across service areas.
• Delivers practical, client-centred interventions to reduce harm and promote wellbeing.
• Delivers harm reduction training, including overdose response and Naloxone education.
• Contributes to development of harm reduction policies and collaborates with other Mission services.
