Job summary

Carters Tauranga is seeking a hands-on Yardperson to fulfil customer orders and operate a forklift in the yard and bulk store. You will deliver high-level service, safely move stock, assist customers, and process despatch paperwork while maintaining a tidy, safe environment.

The ideal candidate will have a valid NZ driver’s licence, a current forklift licence (F Endorsement) with OSH certification, and a strong safety-first approach.

Qualifications

• Valid Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence
• Current Forklift Licence (F Endorsement) and OSH Certification with proven operating experience
• Strong safety-first attitude, prioritising the wellbeing of customers and the team in a busy yard environment
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work well in a team and take initiative
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Previous experience in a building supplies, trade, or warehouse environment is a plus

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to load, unload trucks and move stock around the yard
• Assist customers with loading timber, building materials, and other products
• Providing excellent, friendly customer service that builds lasting relationships
• Preparing dockets, despatch paperwork, and transfer documentation
• Unloading supplier deliveries and checking stock against documentation
• Participating in cycle counts and stocktakes
• Keeping the yard/bulk store clean, tidy, safe, and well-presented
• Support the wider branch team with general duties

CARTERS Tauranga is looking for a hands-on Yardperson to join our team. In this role you will fulfil customer orders and operate a forklift to load and unload products, all while providing a high level of customer service in the yard and bulk store. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and pride themselves on delivering exceptional, timely, and safe service to our customers. With your high energy and can-do attitude, you can expect to:
