Placements24 is seeking a passionate Criminal Defense Attorney to represent clients in Queenstown and surrounding areas. You will defend rights, conduct investigations, build strong defenses, and advocate in court to achieve fair outcomes for clients and ensure robust legal representation.

The role requires admitted status with 4+ years of criminal defense experience, excellent courtroom advocacy, and strong research and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney with proven track record in criminal defense.
• Minimum 4 years of experience handling diverse criminal cases.
• Strong knowledge of criminal law, procedure and evidence rules.
• Excellent advocacy, negotiation and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal counsel and representation to individuals accused of criminal offenses.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and analyzing case details.
• Develop effective defense strategies based on case specifics.
• Draft and file all necessary legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and appeals.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including bail hearings, trials, and sentencing hearings.
• Negotiate plea bargains with prosecutors when appropriate and in the client's best interest.
• Advise clients on their rights and the legal process throughout their case.
