Job summary

Westpac New Zealand is looking for an analytics professional to join the Credit Decision Analytics (CDA) team in Auckland. You’ll work with large datasets, prototype decision strategies, and collaborate with Risk Management and product squads to deliver customer-centric lending solutions.

You’ll bring 2+ years in analytics, strong SAS, and SQL or Python/R, plus experience with Power BI or Tableau. A statistics/economics/maths degree is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ analytics experience or similar role.
• Strong SAS skills, plus SQL or other coding languages (R/Python).
• Experience in data manipulation and quantitative analysis.
• Familiarity with Power BI or Tableau for reporting.
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders.
• Degree in statistics, mathematics, economics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Work with large, complex data sets.
• Collaborate across Risk Management and product squads to deliver customer‑centric lending solutions.
• Prototype new analytical techniques, data sources and decision strategies.
• Develop, implement and monitor decision strategy changes within Westpac’s decisioning platform.
• Present actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Undertake ad‑hoc data analysis to support strategy decisions.
