Job summary

Accor, Peppers Bluewater Resort in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand, is seeking a passionate Chef to join our culinary team and bring creative expression to every plate.

In a setting overlooking Lake Tekapo, you will lead a designated kitchen area, maintain high standards, and collaborate with front-of-house to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive attitude.
• Experience in fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen teams.
• Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of designated kitchen area to ensure smooth service delivery, ready to assist other sections when required.
• Bring a touch of creativity and passion to your work, setting a positive tone for your kitchen colleagues.
• Adhere to local regulations related to health, safety, and HACCP management.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in preparing food orders and menu items.

Purpose

As our Chef, you will be a vital member of our culinary team, where the kitchen becomes your creative space, and flavours come alive on each plate. Bring your passion and imagination, and as a team create dishes that leave wonderful memories.

Primary Responsibilities

• Take charge of your designated kitchen area to ensure smooth service delivery, ready to assist other sections when required

Foster a collaborative approach between the front-of-house team and the kitchen brigade for a harmonious work environment

Skills & Experience

• Minimum educational requirement: Certificate 3 in Commercial Cookery
• Proficiency in independent work and a proactive attitude within a dynamic setting
• Demonstrated capability to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment
• Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
