Job summary

NZ Ministry of Justice – Greymouth, South Island, seeks a Court Registry Support Officer (Fixed Term until June 2027) to assist with day-to-day court operations and customer service. You will support Court Registry Officers and Judges, handle file management, mail, and email communications, and help ensure timely delivery of court files to the appropriate Judge.

The role requires proven customer service experience, flexibility, and a full NZ driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Providing timely and efficient customer service
• Supporting Judges and Court Registry Officers both in and out of the courtroom
• Providing general administrative support for Court Registry Officers, including photocopying, scanning, and file management
• Managing the incoming and outgoing mail
• Monitoring the email inbox, sorting, distributing/replying to emails as appropriate
• Providing support and advice to our diverse customer base
• Answer telephone calls and direct enquiries to the relevant person where appropriate
• Ensuring court files are prepared and delivered to the appropriate Judge within the required timeframe
