Job summary

The Ministry of Justice in Greymouth is seeking a Court Registry Support Officer to assist day-to-day operations and provide customer service to lawyers, judges, and the public.

In this fixed-term role until June 2027 you will handle routine admin, data entry, mail, emails, and file management, working closely with Court Registry Officers in courtroom support and ensuring files are prepared timely.

Qualifications

  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Full NZ driver's licence.
  • Able to multitask and adapt to change.

Court Registry Support Officer – Fixed Term until June 2027, Full Time

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

As a Court Registry Support Officer, you will support the Court's day-to-day operations by supporting the administration function and providing customer service. Your day will involve engaging with our participants, including Lawyers, Judges, and the public – whether over the phone, face to face or via email. You will work closely with Court Registry Officers and support them while they take Court and manage case files.

Day to day, your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing timely and efficient customer service
  • Supporting Judges and Court Registry Officers both in and out of the courtroom
  • Providing general administrative support for Court Registry Officers, including photocopying, scanning, and file management
  • Managing the incoming and outgoing mail
  • Monitoring the email inbox, sorting, distributing/replying to emails as appropriate
  • Data entry
  • Providing support and advice to our diverse customer base
  • Answer telephone calls and direct enquiries to the relevant person where appropriate
  • Ensuring court files are prepared and delivered to the appropriate Judge within the required timeframe

Please note, this is a fixed term role until June 2027.

To be successful in this role, you will have proven customer service experience. You will need to be confident, able to multitask, flexible and easily adapt to change. You will also enjoy a challenge and be motivated to learn.

Please note, the successful candidate is required to have a full NZ drivers licence.

Utu ā-tau/Salary

The remuneration band for this role is $56,343 to $74,416 pro rata – the appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
