Job summary

Central Orchard Management Ltd. is seeking reliable workers for a summer coolstore role in Cromwell, Central Otago. You will help stack and move pallets, check labels, and maintain clean, safe records for fresh cherries during peak season.

No prior coolstore experience is required; training will be provided and you’ll work in a temperature-controlled environment in New Zealand’s Central Otago summer.

Qualifications

COOLSTORE WORKERS WANTED – SUMMER JOB IN CROMWELL
Location: Cromwell, Central Otago, New Zealand
Season: Summer 26/27 (December 2026 - January/February 2027)

Join our coolstore team and help keep our premium cherries fresh and ready for the world.

About the Role

As part of the Coolstore crew, you’ll stack and move pallets, check labels, keep accurate shipment records, and maintain high hygiene and safety standards — all while working in refreshingly cool conditions during the Central Otago summer.

What the job involves:

• Stacking packed cherries safely and efficiently onto pallets
• Moving and organising pallets within the coolstore
• Checking labels and pallet information for accuracy
• Assisting with shipment records, packing lists and delivery documentation
• Helping prepare finished product for dispatch
• Keeping the coolstore clean, organised and hygienic
• Following all food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
• Communicating with supervisors, forklift operators and other team members
• Helping wherever needed to keep the operation running smoothly

Shifts & working hours

During peak harvest, our packhouse operates extended hours and flexibility is important.

Depending on fruit volumes and operational requirements, you may be rostered for:

• Early morning shifts, with starts around 6:00 am
• Late afternoon / evening shifts
• Shifts generally range from6–10 hours, depending on fruit volumes
• Weekend work is required, with rostered days off during the week

Harvest volumes can change quickly, so working hours may vary from day to day.

You don’t need previous coolstore experience — we’ll provide training.
