Bupa Whitby Care Home in Porirua is seeking a dedicated Cook to join a caring kitchen team. The role involves planning menus, preparing meals, catering for special events, and efficiently ordering and monitoring supplies to maintain high standards.

Applicants must be qualified and experienced, with reliability and a proactive attitude. Located in Whitby, the facility offers Rest Home, Hospital, Dementia, and Specialist Dementia care.

Qualifications

• Qualified Cook/Chef with an NZQA-recognised culinary qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 1 year of cooking experience.
• Commitment to resident confidentiality and high-quality meals.

The purpose of this job

Located in Whitby, Porirua, close to the Pauatahanui Inlet, Bupa Whitby Care Home offers Rest Home, Hospital, Dementia, and Specialist Dementia (Psychogeriatric) Care.

As a Cook, while adhering to food Hygiene and Safety you will make an impact on:

• Menu planning and implementation
• Food preparation
• Special event catering
• Ordering and monitoring supplies

What you’ll need to make it possible?

• Qualified Cook/Chef with an NZQA-recognised culinary qualification (or equivalent) and at least 1 year of cooking experience
• Hands-on, proactive attitude with the flexibility to support all aspects of kitchen operations when needed
• Dedicated to delivering high-quality meals for our aged care residents
• Ensure resident confidentiality
• Reliable transport/ability to travel to and from the workplace consistently
• Applicants must be legally eligible to work in New Zealand.
