Job summary

Higgins is looking for a motivated and organised Contracts Administrator to join our Hawke's Bay team on a fixed-term contract from October 2026 through to January 2028. As a Contracts Administrator, you will provide administrative, financial, and contract support across the business.

Working closely with operational teams, project managers, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders, you'll ensure that business processes run smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Previous administration experience in a busy and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence communicating with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including graphs and pivot tables.
  • Proactive attitude with ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience in civil construction, infrastructure, or contracting would be advantageous.
  • Experience using Procore and AWM would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Provide contract administration support across multiple business units and projects.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage invoice processing.
  • Support project creation, maintenance, and close-out activities.
  • Manage office administration, supplies, and travel bookings.
  • Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
  • Take meeting minutes and track follow-up actions.
  • Assist with reporting and administrative requirements for operational teams.
  • Deliver professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and general business administration.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of civil construction and infrastructure projects.

About The Role

As a Contracts Administrator, you will provide administrative, financial, and contract support across the business. Working closely with operational teams, project managers, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders, you\'ll ensure that business processes run smoothly and efficiently.This varied role requires excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of people.
