The Big Foody, including Vineyard Cottages and related brands, seeks a Content Creator & Digital Media Manager to capture authentic moments across hospitality, tours, and products. You will craft photography, video, captions and emails, while shaping each brand’s voice and visual identity.
You’ll collaborate with the Director, manage a content calendar, and develop evergreen assets to grow reach, engagements and bookings across Auckland and New Zealand.
**Location:** Vineyard Cottages, Waimauku / Auckland / Hybrid
**Hours:** 40 hours per week
**Employment:** Full-time
**Reports to:** Director
**Businesses:** Vineyard Cottages, The Big Foody Food Tours, Wild Fennel Seasonings and associated brands
The Content Creator & Digital Media Manager is responsible for creating, managing and publishing engaging digital content across our portfolio of food, tourism and hospitality brands.
This is a hands-on creative role. The successful candidate will spend time within the businesses capturing what is actually happening: guests arriving at Vineyard Cottages, food tours taking place around Auckland, weddings and events, new products from Wild Fennel, seasonal food, local producers, behind-the-scenes moments and the people who make the businesses work.
The role combines **content creation, social media management, photography, video, copywriting, email marketing and basic website content management**.
The aim is simple: to make our businesses look as interesting online as they are in real life, grow our audiences and ultimately turn that attention into enquiries, bookings and sales.
Each of our businesses has its own personality and audience.
The Content Creator & Digital Media Manager will learn and maintain the individual tone, visual style and positioning of each brand while ensuring a consistently high standard of content.
Content should feel genuine, warm, interesting and human rather than overly corporate or generic.
The role will involve working with the Director and wider team to identify upcoming:
A rolling content plan should be maintained so that we are creating content ahead of time rather than constantly looking for something to post.
We are looking for someone with:
Experience with platforms such as **Canva, CapCut, Meta Business Suite, WordPress and email marketing software** is desirable but not essential.
Training can be provided where required.
Success in this role isn't simply measured by how many posts are published.
We want to see:
This role would suit someone who is proactive.
We don't want to provide a detailed instruction for every Reel, photograph or post. We want someone who notices opportunities and thinks:
**"That would make great content."**
You should be comfortable working independently, approaching people, asking questions, filming what's happening and suggesting ideas.
You will also need to be happy working in a hospitality environment where plans sometimes change quickly and the best content isn't always scheduled.
The role will be based partly at **Vineyard Cottages in Waimauku**, with some work able to be completed remotely.
Regular on-site content creation is an important part of the position.
There will also be opportunities to attend food tours, events, supplier visits and other experiences around Auckland and potentially elsewhere in New Zealand.
A **full driver's licence and access to a vehicle are strongly preferred**.
Above everything else, we're looking for someone who is **creative, curious and enthusiastic**.
You should genuinely enjoy food, travel, hospitality, people and storytelling.
This is an opportunity to build a substantial portfolio across several real businesses while having considerable creative freedom to experiment, learn and help shape how the brands appear online.
