Job summary

About the Role

The appointee will be involved in teaching, continuing medical education and quality improvement. There is emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients.

About the Team, Service, and Location

The busy service provides over 3,000 endoscopy procedures per year and approximately 2,000 outpatient appointments. The team currently comprises three gastroenterologists, and a team of nurses led by two registered nurses with extensive gastroenterology outpatient and endoscopy experience. We have a very active and involved group of medical and surgical specialists and a collegial atmosphere.

Ruakopito is our newly built start‑of‑the‑art facility, on the campus in Hastings that houses all patient‑based gastroenterology services in one place providing two procedure rooms, patient recovery, resource and administration areas, clinic spaces and meeting rooms.

About You

• Proven skills and experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy.
• Summary of endoscopy experience required on application.

• Experience in projects or initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings.
