Job summary

Extrastaff is hiring full-time Construction Technicians to be deployed on infrastructure and commercial projects across New Zealand. Roles are permanent with site locations based on project demand.

Key responsibilities include erecting scaffolding, pouring concrete, framing, and general labour. Applicants should have some construction experience, strong time management, and a commitment to safety. Must be able to travel or relocate within NZ as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks within your skills for construction projects.
• Comply with contracts, projects or tasks and meet customer expectations.
• Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembly work.
• Create structures, forms or chutes and pour concrete.
• Finish floors by laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip blocks.
• Patch plaster defects and sand smooth.
• Position and secure reinforcement in concrete forms.
• General labour on construction sites as required.
• Load/unload materials and transport them around sites.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.

Extrastaff, aLabourHire Company, is hiringfull-time Construction Technicians for deployment on infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand.Positions are full-time and permanent, with site location based on project demand

Key Responsibilities:

• Tasks required of you that is within your skills and capabilities that is necessary for thebusiness of the company.
• Comply with all aspects of any contract, project or task and deliver customer services thatmeets or exceed the expectation of the customer or the Extrastaff business.
• Erect Scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Creating structures, forms or chutes and pouring concrete.
• Cover subfloors with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, orwood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphaltbase.
• Fill cracks or other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patchingplaster, trowel, and sanding tool.
• Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.
• General labouring cleaning construction sites as required by managers
• Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment andtransporting them around building sites.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills and experience required:

• Some experience in construction industry is preferable, but not essential.
• Friendly, with good time management, & excellent work ethic are essential
• A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry
• Sound knowledge of H&S procedures

• Fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry
• General framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting and architraves
