Job summary

Extrastaff, aLabourHire Company, is seeking Construction Technicians to join various projects across New Zealand. Roles are full-time and permanent, with site location based on project demand, including opportunities in Taranaki.

Ideal candidates will have construction exposure, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety. Travel across regions may be required as projects demand.

Responsibilities

• Tasks required of you that is within your skills and capabilities that is necessary for thebusiness of the company.
• Comply with all aspects of any contract, project or task and deliver customer services thatmeets or exceed the expectation of the customer or the Extrastaff business.
• Erect Scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Creating structures, forms or chutes and pouring concrete.
• Cover subfloors with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, orwood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphaltbase.
• Fill cracks or other defects in plaster or plasterboard and sand patch, using patchingplaster, trowel, and sanding tool.
• Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms, using fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.
• General labouring cleaning construction sites as required by managers
• Loading and unloading building and construction materials, tools and equipment andtransporting them around building sites.
• All other duties as assigned.
