Job summary

The Barracks Ltd. is seeking Building & Construction Technicians to contribute to a diverse range of residential, commercial, and civil projects in the Bay of Plenty. You will work on site preparation, framing, insulation, and finishing tasks while upholding safety standards.

Role offers full-time hours, with guaranteed 30+ hours per week and potential relocation to various NZ locations as required. Join a supportive team focused on quality workmanship and career progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant construction experience, or similar.
• Ability to carry out a range of building and construction tasks.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual construction work.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices and site safety requirements.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Work across residential, commercial and civil construction projects.
• Assist site preparation, demolition, excavation and site set-out.
• Contribute to foundation, framing and structural construction works.
• Assist installation of framing, insulation, drywall, fibre cement boards, cladding and other building systems.
• Support formwork, concrete, plaster, mortar and steel reinforcement activities.
• Assist civil works including trenching, roadworks and driveways.
• Support installation, inspection, maintenance and repair of construction systems.
• Operate hand and power tools and manage materials on site.
• Maintain quality inspections, measurements and basic project documentation.
• Keep worksites safe, clean and organized.
