Job summary

Placements24 in Queenstown, New Zealand, seeks a diligent Health and Safety Officer to secure safe working environments across multiple construction sites.

You will develop, implement and monitor policies to comply with NZ legislation and industry standards, conduct inspections, deliver toolbox talks, and maintain records. This role requires strong communication, independence, and a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH or SAMTRAC qualification required.
• Minimum 3 years' experience as Health and Safety Officer in construction.
• Knowledge of NZ health and safety regulations and hazard risk assessment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce health and safety plans on construction sites.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents and near misses, prepare reports and corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks.
• Maintain health and safety records and documentation.
• Advise management on best practices and legal requirements.
