Job summary

Department of Conservation is seeking a proactive Project Coordinator in Wellington to bring structure and momentum to complex initiatives. You will work with Project Managers and stakeholders to coordinate resources, budgets and governance, ensuring timely, on-budget delivery and clear decision-making.

The role emphasizes meticulous planning, accurate reporting, and strong relationship management within a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating projects in a complex environment.
• Strong planning, organisation, and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage competing demands.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support the delivery of projects, ensuring activities are tracked and managed to agreed time, cost, and quality outcomes
• Maintain high-quality project documentation, plans, registers, reports, governance papers, agendas, and meeting records
• Monitor project resources, budgets, forecasts, accruals, and financial reporting to support sound decision-making
• Identify, track, and elevate project risks and issues, ensuring appropriate mitigation and resolution actions are progressed
• Build effective working relationships across DOC and with external partners, contributing positively to project teams and stakeholder engagement
