Kawakawa Environmental Ltd in Wellington region is seeking an Environmental Restoration Field Operator to support ungulate and biodiversity monitoring, pest control, and restoration planting across Greater Wellington and lower North Island. Most work is in native bush and regional parks, often off-track and remote, with 5–10 days away from home.

You should be reliable, physically fit and enjoy outdoor work.

Qualifications

• Reliable, physically capable and keen to learn.
• Able to work off-track in steep bush and difficult terrain.
• Willing to stay away from home for 5–10 days.
• Full NZ driver's licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and maintaining bait stations.
• Ungulate, pest animal and biodiversity monitoring.
• Pest animal and pest plant control.
• Navigating and working safely off-track in steep terrain.
• Carrying a loaded pack and field equipment for extended periods.
• Recording fieldwork and monitoring information using GPS and digital systems.
• Assisting with native planting and planting maintenance.
• General field and equipment maintenance.
• Working as part of a small team as well as independently.
