Shape the future of compliance at Aon New Zealand. If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely influence how a business manages risk and compliance — this is it. As our Compliance & Audit Manager, you'll play a critical role in shaping that future — providing independent oversight, challenging the status quo, and partnering with the business to lift standards across the board.
This is a true Line 2 role, sitting within our Legal & Compliance team — focused on oversight, assurance, and continuous improvement. You'll be working across the business to: assess how well controls are operating, identify risks and gaps before they become issues, provide clear, practical insights to leaders, and help shape and evolve our compliance frameworks. It's a role with real visibility and influence, including regular engagement with senior leaders and governance committees.
Make an impact – shape and uplift Aon NZ's compliance framework as we continue to mature. Trusted and autonomous – you'll be given the space to operate and influence, backed by a highly experienced team. Broad and varied – exposure across audit, compliance, risk and privacy. Strategic exposure – work closely with senior leaders and governance forums. Flexibility that works – hybrid working and genuine flexibility built in.
You'll be driving assurance and partnering with the business, including: leading line 2 compliance audits and monitoring across regulated activities, reviewing processes, identifying risks, and challenging the effectiveness of controls, reporting insights and findings to leadership and governance, providing practical advice on projects, products, and operational change, building trusted relationships across the business and with regulators, and acting as privacy and data protection officer, adding further depth to the role.
We're keen to hear from people who bring: 5+ years' experience in compliance, audit, or risk within financial services, strong understanding of the NZ regulatory environment, ideally financial advice, a sharp eye for detail — able to spot risks, trends, and systemic issues, excellent communication skills, including report writing and presenting to senior team members, confidence to challenge and influence across all levels of the business.
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better — helping protect and grow businesses around the world. In New Zealand, we’re committed to building a stronger, more resilient business — and our Legal & Compliance team plays a crucial role in that journey.
We don't just talk about better ways of working—we live it, every day. Here's what you can look forward to: friendly, collaborative teams both locally and across the globe, comprehensive onboarding and continuous professional development, opportunities to grow and progress across different areas of our business.
