Job summary

Oceania Group is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for Franklin Village in Pukekohe on a fixed-term contract. You will support residents to live with dignity, comfort and connection, delivering person-centred care day-to-day.

You will work closely with Registered Nurses, maintain a safe environment, and engage with residents and their whānau to promote wellbeing and independence. Competitive pay, ongoing development, and confidential wellbeing support are offered.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of caregiving experience in aged care or similar settings.
• Ideally experience supporting residents living with Dementia.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to caring for older adults.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care maintaining dignity, privacy and comfort.
• Assist residents with daily activities including hygiene, mobility, nutrition and hydration.
• Observe and respond to residents’ needs, escalating concerns as required.
• Build trusting relationships with residents and their families/whānau.
• Create a safe, clean, welcoming environment that promotes wellbeing and independence.
• Follow care plans and collaborate with Registered Nurses to ensure high-quality care.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families and the team.
• Adhere to health, safety and infection control practices.
