Job summary

HealthCare NZ is seeking compassionate and reliable Support Workers to assist people in their homes and communities in Masterton. This permanent part-time role provides around 15-20 guaranteed hours per week, offering a meaningful work-life balance and the chance to make a real difference.

You'll provide personal care, meal prep, household tasks, and companionship, with shifts across early mornings, daytimes, and evenings, seven days a week.

Qualifications

• Caring, respectful and positive attitude.
• Full NZ driver’s licence is required.
• Reliable transport to travel between client visits.
• Right to work in New Zealand.
• Willingness to undergo police vetting and other pre-employment checks.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including assistance with showering and toileting.
• Assist with medication support as required.
• Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks.
• Support community participation and outings.
• Assist with manual handling and hoist transfers where needed.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.

Our busiest shift times are typically, but not restricted to :

• 7:30 - 9:30am
• 11:30 - 2:30pm
• 4:00pm - 5:00pm

Shifts are 7 days a week.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you'll support people to maintain their independence, achieve their goals, and live fulfilling lives in their own homes and communities.

Duties may include:

• Personal care, including showering and toileting
• Medication support
• Meal preparation
• Household tasks and home management
• Community participation and outings
• Manual handling, hoist transfers
• Bowel cares
• Providing companionship and emotional support

What We're Looking For:

Essential Requirements

Experience That's Helpful But Not Essential

• Previous support work, caregiving, healthcare, or disability support experience
• Health and wellbeing or related qualifications
• Experience supporting people with personal cares or mobility needs
